OUR FAMILY – THE LEGACY CONTINUES
Nestled in the heart of the Hex Valley, surrounded by majestic mountains and endless vineyards, lies the small town of De Doorns. It is here that Christine Jordaan has been crafting luxurious goose down bedding for more than three decades.
Raised on a cattle farm in Namibia, Christine spent many hours watching her mother sew pillows and ‘bulsakke’ by hand. Without realizing it at the time, she was learning skills that would one day form the foundation of her own business.
After marrying Retief Jordaan and starting a family, Christine began keeping geese on the farm, Tweespruit in the Hexvalley. Using their down and feathers, she lovingly made duvets, pillows and sleeping bags for her family. As friends and relatives experienced the comfort and quality of her handmade bedding, word quickly spread, and what began as a personal passion soon grew into something much bigger.
With little more than determination, a roll of fabric and a dream, Christine took a leap of faith. She carefully handcrafted each product, sold it, reinvested what she earned, and started again. One duvet, one pillow and one customer at a time, Hex Valley Down slowly grew from a humble hobby into a trusted family business.
Over the years, the business has continued to evolve, and one of its greatest milestones was welcoming Christine’s only daughter, Annemien, into the family enterprise. Together they have remained committed to the values on which Hex Valley Down was built: quality craftsmanship, honest service and products made to be cherished for years to come.
Today, the Hex Valley Down team consists of dedicated women from the local community. Through their skill, care and attention to detail, they help create the products that have become synonymous with the Hex Valley Down name. They are an integral part of our story and the strength behind our business.
From our family to yours, we bring you the comfort of home-sewn luxury.
